Trying to think of a moivie. A smart kid is taken hostage, and a bad guy uses a y trapped Luger pistol?

I remember something abt. a microchip, and a RC car with a camera on it, I think. The movie alos had a sequel where the smart boy, I think his name is Stuart, goes to a boarding school as a comp. programmer. Bad guys come for him thee too. The main bad guy trying to get him in the sequel kills people with a leather glove covered in poison. PLEASE HELP!!! Not remembering is driving me crazy!!!
