Sue for libel against broadband company?

broadband company hounded me for two years even though I had paid them by direct debit untill i canceled owing nothing, they threatened me with debt collectors who eventually wrote to me with a letter of litgitation for court proceedings, is there anything I can do to bring this Companny to compensate me for untrue accusations
