Why is it that every time I see anyone refuting evolution it's based on misinformation?

They always call evolution a theory of the origin of life, or make an argument involving monkeys, call it a belief system, or try to discredit it with outdated material. Surely there's at least a few people on here that can make a reasonable argument without resorting to pseudo science or flagellum (outdated theory). I'm just wondering why so many, at least on these boards seem misinformed. Is it cultural or is the teaching in our schools become that substandard?
